Recovering traps in Cambriu

This picture was taken on our last day in Cambriu. We were traveling up the river to get our traps that were set earlier that day, and some that were set the night before. Tim is in the back, Im standing up in the brown shirt, Jack is mooning the camera, and Jody is sitting in the front looking at his muddy feet.

Loading the boat on the last day in Cambriu

This is a neat picture. The last day in Cambriu. You cant see it (its just far enough to the right to be cut off by the edge of the picture), but the Gaia was out about 200 yards into the ocean. The waves were really bad, so Gaia couldnt get too close to the shore. You can see the clouds coming up and the waves crashing in. We were loading a 15 foot long motorized wooden canoe with our supplies and sending it out with two people aboard to load the Gaia. Everybody in this picture is trying to get the canoe outpast the major waves without tipping it. Were talking many thousands of dollars of equipment that would be literally washed away if the canoe tipped. We were able to get all of our stuff safely back to the main camp luckily.

Picture

This is my favorite picture. Thats me walking through the rainforest back to Maruja after our little stay in Cambriu. The walk between Maruja and Cambriu was something like 14km. Most of it was on the beach, but there was enough forest trekking to let you know your feet were there. And you cant see it in this picture, but the mosquitos would not leave us alone!

Thats all of the pictures that Ive had time to post. Im going through some of the others, and Ill scan those soon. I hope you enjoyed them.
